Man dead and woman critically injured after car crash on A58 Easterly Road

It happened at about 10.35pm when the driver of a white Volkswagen Golf travelling along the A58 towards the city centre hit a blue Seat Alhambra, at the junction of Easterly Road and Hollin Park Mount.

The driver of the Alhambra, a man, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

A woman, who was a passenger in the Alhambra, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Her condition is said to be critical.

The male driver of the Golf also suffered serious injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening.

Anyone who witnessed the crash, the movements of either vehicle immediately prior to it, or who may have dash cam footage that will assist is asked to contact the Major Collision Enquiry Team on 101 or by using the options on the West Yorkshire Police website.

The log reference is 2146 of September 20.
