Hayden Clarke, aged 27, of Halton Moor Road, Leeds, who self defines as white British, is set to appear before Leeds Crown Court on Thursday, July 16.

He will appear charged with the murder of Mark Shaw, aged 43, from Leeds.

The charge follows an incident in Seacroft on Thursday, July 9 in which Mr Shaw was seriously assaulted and left with critical injuries. He was taken to hospital for medical treatment but died of those injuries yesterday evening.

Clarke had appeared before Leeds Magistrates’ Court this morning charged with an offence of section 18 assault. That charge was amended to murder at the hearing.

Enquiries into the incident remain ongoing by the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team.
