Man charged after hammer robbery at Leeds cash point

A man has appeared in court after being charged over a violent street robbery in Leeds.

Marcel McKoy Blair, aged 26, of Marley Place, Beeston, was arrested on Friday following a public appeal over the incident, which took place at West Point, in Wellington Street, on Saturday October 12.

He was charged with robbery, attempted robbery and possession of an offensive weapon, believed to be a hammer, following an investigation by Leeds District Crime Team.

He appeared at Leeds Magistrates Court on Saturday and was remanded in custody pending a further hearing.
