A man was arrested after a police chase in the West Park area of Leeds.

The driver of the car failed to stop for roads policing officers shortly before midnight last night (Sunday).

Officers gave chase for around three minutes before the car stopped.

Officers then arrested a 35-year-old man on suspicion of driving while disqualified, driving while unfit through drink or drugs, dangerous driving, failing to stop, assaulting an emergency worker and possession of cocaine and cannabis.

The man remains in police custody.
