Man arrested after teen lifted against bridge railings and attacked

The victim feared he would be pushed over and onto the road below in the shocking attack over the A650 in Bingley.
The attack took place on September 14 at around 5pm, police confirmed.

Hide AdThe victim was approached as he walked over the footbridge of Britannia Street and Ferncliffe Road.
He was shouted at before being attacked.
The culprit lifted him up and against the railings.
However, the victim managed to hold onto a railing and was saved by two passers-by who pulled him down and away from the man.
A 20-year-old man from Bingley has been arrested in connection with the attack, police said.
Enquiries are ongoing into the incident and police are appealing for witnesses.

Hide AdDetective Inspector Claire Smith said: “We are continuing to appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward and assist with our enquiries.
“It is likely that vehicles travelling along the A650 may have witnessed this and I am particularly keen to track down the female who came to the assistance of the teenager.”
