Man arrested after gun fired at house in Belle Isle

A man has been arrested over an incident in Leeds where a gun was fired at a house.

The 21-year-old man was arrested early this morning (May 14) when firearms officers executed warrants at two addresses in Belle Isle.

Scenes remain at those addresses pending searches, police confirmed.

The operation is part of an ongoing investigation by West Yorkshire Police Firearms Investigation and Prevent Team following an incident at a house in Woodview Mount, Beeston, on Saturday, May 1, where damage was caused to the front door by a firearm discharge.

No-one was injured and the incident was not reported to police until Tuesday, May 4.

Three other men, aged 21, 24 and 29, have previously been arrested in relation to the investigation and released on bail.

The man arrested this morning remains in custody on suspicion of firearms offences and enquiries are ongoing.
