Man and woman arrested as armed police seize six kilos of Class A drugs from Sheepscar in Leeds

Two people have been arrested after police seized a large quantity of suspected Class A drugs from a car in Leeds.

Armed officers stopped a car on Sackville Street, Sheepscar, at noon on Wednesday.

They seized six kilos of suspected Class A drugs from the vehicle.

A 26-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of drugs related offences.

They remain in police custody.

The raid was led by Programme Precision, a West Yorkshire Police operation tackling serious organised crime.

There was a heavy police presence in the area as officers carried out the operation.

Detective Superintendent Carl Galvin, who leads Programme Precision, said: “Programme Precision is about everyone at West Yorkshire Police working together with local partners to tackle serious and organised crime.
