Man and woman arrested after Pontefract fight as two taken to hospital with injuries

Two people have been arrested following a fight in Pontefract last night (Thursday).

West Yorkshire Police officers were called to reports of an ongoing fight on Monkhill Avenue at around 10.00pm on Thursday evening.

When police arrived a man and woman were taken to hospital with injuries, and they have since been discharged from hospital.

A 38-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman have been arrested and the suspects remain in police custody.

Police enquiries are ongoing.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "Police were called to Monkhill Avenue, Pontefract at 22.07 yesterday evening to reports of an ongoing fight.

"On arrival a man and woman were taken to hospital with injuries and have since been discharged from hospital.

"A 38 year old man and 32 year old woman have been arrested and remain in police custody at this time.

"Enquiries ongoing."
