He made first appearance at Leeds Crown Court
A man accused of murdering another in Leeds could stand for trial next spring.
Michael Gyedu made his first appearance at Leeds Crown Court this morning after being charged in connection with the death of Rahiem Jackson last month.
Appearing over a video link from HMP Leeds, and dressed in prison-issue grey tracksuit, the 26-year-old spoke to confirm his name.
He was not asked to enter a plea.
During the brief hearing a preliminary trial date was set for April 5 next year. Should it go ahead, it could last up to 10 days.
He was remanded back into custody to appear again on November 27 where he will be expected to enter a plea.

Rahiem Jackson, 38, died after being attacked on Hedley Chase in New Wortley on Saturday, October 24.
Detectives launched a murder investigation following the fatal attack and announced that an arrest had been made in London six days later.
Gyedu, of Rathmell Road, was later charged.
On Sunday a second man, aged 26, was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.
Enquiries into Rahiem’s death remain ongoing by the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team.
