M1 sliproad attacker from Wakefield made sick threats to behead partner's horse
Violent boyfriend launched into woman during disastrous New Year’s Eve celebration
A thuggish boyfriend attacked his partner when she tried to flee from him, getting out of the car on the M1 and running along the sliproad.
Kyle Bibby was jailed after being convicted after a trial of ABH. The 32-year-old admitted charges of driving while banned and having no insurance.
Leeds Crown Court heard that Bibby had made sickening threats to kill her horse and burn down the stables.
He and the female had been in London on December 31 for the New Year celebrations.
They were in a hotel room and Bibby was drunk, prosecutor Victoria Barker told the court.

She said she wanted to go home so they got into her car, but he began to accuse her of cheating and was acting jealous over her ex partner.
At around 10pm he turned violent and began punching her while driving. She pulled over and he got into the driver’s seat after dragging her into the passenger’s side.
He then put his foot down, reaching over 100mph in the BMW and leaving the woman petrified.
She seized an opportunity to get out on the hard shoulder when he slowed down she and tried to run off.
But he chased her down and pushed her down onto the grass. He kicked her to the body and punched her to the head several times, causing he to briefly lose consciousness.
He made the vile threats about beheading her horse and burning down the stables.
They both got back in the car and as soon as she dropped him off, she rang the police.
In the woman’s victim impact statement, read out by Ms Barker, the woman said she would have “rather had died than been involved in this” and that the attack left he feeling like she had been “hit by a bus”.
The court heard that Bibby, who is from the Wakefield area but of no fixed address, has 24 previous convictions from 36 offences, including the driving ban he received in January last year.
Mitigating, Holly Clegg said Bibby accepted he has a problem with alcohol, particularly binge drinking, when stressed.
She said he had endured a difficult childhood and had trauma that had “stuck with him”.
She said his mother died suddenly in 2023 and had self medicated with alcohol, leading to an increase in convictions, but said he was “determined to sort that out”.
She added that he was remorseful for the attack on the woman.
Judge Simon Phillips KC jailed Bibby for 34 months in total and given a new 46-month driving ban.
