A Leeds man has been jailed after taking the blame for speeding tickets for other people.

Mark Clarke, of Aberfield Rise, Belle Isle, thought he could get away with it as he was already disqualified from driving at the time, West Yorkshire Police said.

The 34-year-old took the blame for 14 speeding tickets in total.

He was jailed for two years after admitting taking payment in exchange for taking responsibility for the tickets.

Police said in a social media update: "Today in court he admitted that he was paid £100 to take responsibility for the speeding tickets.

"Ten out of the 14 people who he covered for have been dealt with for the original speeding offences."
