Leeds man arrested after shooting in Westfell Road in Keighley

A man from Leeds has been arrested after a shooting in a residential area of Keighley.

Officers were called at 9:59am on Wednesday, November 11 to reports of shots fired at a car on Westfell Road.

The suspects fled the scene in a car which was later found by police.

Several large cordons were in place throughout the day.

The police helicopter was also called out.

Two men, aged 26 and 30 and a woman, aged 57, were arrested in connection with the incident that afternoon.

At the time, Detective Chief Inspector Fiona Gaffney said: “Officers quickly arrested three people in connection with this incident, who remain in police custody at this time.

“Incidents such as this cause understandable concern and distress to the local community; we do believe this was a targeted incident.

“High visibility patrols have been deployed to the area to provide reassurance to local residents and community.”

Last night, police made two further arrests of a 38-year-old man from Leeds and a 30-year-old man from Keighley.

Enquiries remain ongoing.
