Leeds drug dealer jailed after police found crack cocaine and heroin when they searched his car

West Yorkshire Police officers also found more class A drugs, spice and class C drugs when they searched Sultan Ismail's home in Hyde Park, Leeds.

Leeds Crown Court heard officers signalled for Ismail to stop his vehicle in the Beeston area of the city on January 11, 2018.

The 30-year-old defendant sped off when officers put on blue lights and sirens.

Ismail mounted a grassed area on Disraeli Terrace before stopping.

The officers searched the car and found six small bags of crack cocaine and 16 containing heroin.

His home on Hall Grove, Hyde Park, was searched and over £1,000 worth of heroin and crack cocaine were found in a toiletry bag in his bedroom.

Smaller quantities of spice and tablets of a class C drug were also found along with cash and digital scales.

Ismail, now of Savile Place, Chapeltown, pleaded guilty to four counts of possession of a class A drug with intent to supply, possession of a class B drug and two counts of possession of a class C drug.

He has two previous convictions for drug dealing.

Sentencing, Judge Geoffrey Marson QC said: "It doesn't need me to tell you that your situation is very significantly aggravated by the fact that you have two previous convictions relating to the supply of class A drugs.

"As you would have been told on previous occasions, it is a vile trade that brings misery and sometimes death to those addicted to class A drugs.

"They have to burgle, rob and steal to fund their habits."
