A woman has spoken of her shock after the death of a man near her partner’s flat in Swarcliffe.

On November 1, West Yorkshire Police confirmed a man had died at a property in Swarcliffe Drive and that a woman had been arrested in connection with the death..

Sue Heptinstall was visiting her partner who lives nearby and has insisted the area is normally a quiet one. She said: “I was visiting my partner yesterday (November 1) dinnertime when we suddenly heard an emergency ambulance then another, then we spotted a police van over the road. I then left my partner's flat, he said there had been couple more CSI vans and there were still police there at about 6pm.

"That's all we knew, that a body was found, we don't know who. It's normally a quiet area, with schoolchildren coming back and forth on a morning and evening.
