Darell Gadsby was left to pick shards of glass out of his pockets after he said youths smashed the window at the junction of Pepper Road and Midland Road in Hunslet on Friday night.

Darell said he was 'shocked and surprised' at the incident, with four passengers still on his bus at around 7.20pm when it was hit.

In a post he shared on Facebook, Darell said: "So all you lovely parents out there, this is what some of your lovely kids get up to on a night when your all sat snug at home and us bus drivers are out working to earn a living.

The smashed windscreen of the bus.The smashed windscreen of the bus.
The smashed windscreen of the bus.

"They think it's funny to put peoples lives at risk."

The post received many outraged comments from local residents.

Some suggested it was a common occurence in the winter months, with other drivers confirming their vehicles had been hit in the past.
