It was part of a joint operation with Leeds City Council in the Ebor Gardens and Haslewood Estate area of Burmantofts.

The operation took place on Wednesday, April 28.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said:

West Yorkshire Police said: "These knives were found during a weapons sweep by the Leeds east and Operaton Jemlock teams yesterday in the Ebor Gardens / Haslewood Estate area of Leeds as part of Operation Sceptre.

"These are potentially dangerous weapons that cannot now be used for violence.

"We worked with Leeds Council and also spoke with people in the area, explaining that carrying a knife is never the answer.

"Thanks to everyone who gave us a warm welcome."
