Jail for man caught carrying Stanley knife in Leeds city centre

A man who was caught carrying a Stanley knife in Leeds city centre has been sent to jail.

Paul David Ireland appeared at Leeds Magistrates’ Court recently where he pleaded guilty to carrying an offensive weapon.

He also admitted failing to surrender to custody after he didn’t turn up for a previous court appearance.

The 41-year-old was stopped on Albion Street at 6.45pm on August 21, last year.

Ireland, of Blake Grove, Chapel Allerton, was given six months’ jail and told to pay £128 costs.
