West Yorkshire Police said they had received an increase in the thefts of Mercedes Sprinter and Ford Transit vans in the Inner and Outer East areas of the city.
Officers warned owners to ensure their vehicle is secure.
Additional security such as a mechanical pedal or steering wheel lock is also advised, police said.

In a social media post, the force said: "*** THEFT OF MERCEDES SPRINTERS / FORD TRANSITS ***
"Over the last few weeks we have seen an increase in the thefts of both Mercedes SPRINTER and Ford TRANSIT Vans in the Inner and Outer East area.
"Please ensure you vehicle is secure and we are advising additional physical security in the form of a mechanical pedal or steering wheel lock.
"If you have any information about who may be involved in this type of crime please call 101 or Crimestoppers 0800 555 111."
