Huge cannabis farm busted by police at this Leeds address

A "substantial" cannabis farm was uncovered by police in Harehills.

Officers from the Leeds East Neighbourhood Policing Team raided a property in the Bayswaters, just behind St James's Hospital, on Wednesday.

West Yorkshire Police received a tip off from a member of the public who reported suspicious activity at the address.

Police found a large cannabis farm inside the property, complete with a hydroponics system, a way of growing plants in water instead of soil.

Officers are trying to find out who was using the property.

The full statement on the Leeds East Team's Facebook page said: "Today officers from East NPT Team 3 attended the Bayswater area of Harehills, following information received from a member of the public regarding suspicious activity at an address.

"Inside the address was a substantial cannabis farm complete with full hydroponics system.

"Enquiries are on-going to trace the occupants of the address.

"If you have any information regarding criminal activity in your area please report it to West Yorkshire Police or via Crimestoppers."
