Houses raided in Leeds and seven men arrested after £500k of designer clothes stolen from HGV
Arrests were also made over the supply of Class A drugs as warrants were executed across the city
Seven men were arrested during a series of raids across Leeds following the theft of nearly £500,000’s worth of designer clothes from a HGV.
The warrants were executed today (Thursday) at addresses on Stafford Street in Hunslet, Chelsea Grove in Wortley and Tempest Road in Beeston. There was also arrest enquiries at further addresses in Leeds and Bradford.

Seven men, aged 20, 25, 28, 29, 30, 31 and 36, have been arrested on suspicion of offences including conspiracy to commit theft and conspiracy to supply Class A drugs. They remain in custody at this time.
While at Stafford Street, police noticed suspicious activity at a neighbouring property and discovered a “significant” cannabis farm inside. Two men, aged 20 and 29, were arrested on suspicion of producing a Class B drug and abstraction of electricity.
The operation follows the recovery of an HGV on Stafford Street, Leeds, on May 5 that was linked to an overnight theft offence in Essex between April 30 and May 1. A significant amount of designer clothing was stolen, valued at nearly £500k.
Inspector Mark Lund, of Leeds South Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “This has been a significant police operation across Leeds and Bradford which has resulted in a number of arrests and suspected stolen property being found and recovered.
“While conducting this operation, officers acting on their instincts have also managed to uncover a large-scale cannabis farm in a nearby property, and we have made further arrests in connection with that.
“Our work now continues in conducting extensive searches and interviewing those in custody. I hope the public are reassured by the action that has been taken.”
