Headingley St Anne's Road police incident: One arrested and one in hospital after vehicle attacked with baseball bats in serious assault

One person has been arrested and one person is in hospital after a serious assault involving baseball bats in the Headingley area of Leeds.

Police were called just before midnight on Saturday night to reports of three people who were believed to be attacking a vehicle with baseball bats.

At least one person was injured and is currently being treated in hospital.

Police are investigating the incident as a serious assault at this stage and have arrested at least one person.

A police cordon was in place with evidence markers on the pavement until at least Sunday afternoon.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "Police were called to St Anne's Road in Headingley just before midnight last night (Saturday).

"There were reports to police of three suspects believed to be with baseball bats attacking a vehicle.

"At least one injured party is being treated at hospital for injuries.

"At least one person has been arrested and police are investigating this as a serious assault at this stage."
