Harrogate man jailed for aggravated burglary in Knaresborough

A 31-year-old man from Harrogate has been sentenced to prison for more than two years following the aggravated burglary of a riverside cottage in Knaresborough.

Dale Plant, 31, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary, theft of a boat, possession of a weapon and possession of a class B drug on Tuesday July 4.

Plant was found guilty on three charges and sentenced to two years and five months imprisonment, at York Crown Court on August 4.

In July, North Yorkshire Police said a man was stopped by police as he tried to untie a boat from its moorings.

Police arrested the man in the back garden of a cottage on Waterside, where he was seen making his way down to the river shortly after 9pm.
