Garforth Main Street stabbing: Man arrested after teenager stabbed during Leeds street fight involving large group of people

A 21-year-old man has been arrested after a teenager was stabbed in a large street fight in Leeds.

It happened at about 10.30pm last night (Friday) in Main Street, Garforth.

West Yorkshire Police were called to an ongoing street fight involving a large number of people.

An 18-year-old man was found with stab wounds to his leg and arm and he was taken to hospital.

His injuries are not life-threatening.

A 21-year-old man has been arrested and is in custody.

Detective Inspector Guy Shackleton, of Leeds District CID, said: “We take all reports of the use of knives and other bladed weapons extremely seriously and are working hard to establish the circumstances that have led to this young man being injured.

“We understand this was connected to a wider fight involving a considerable number of people and we are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area and witnessed any part of this incident.”
