Frog-porn paedophile from Wakefield village told he 'won't face prison'

A paedophile who has been caught with illegal images, including sickening porn involving a frog, has been told he is unlikely to be locked up.

A judge said chicken-farm worker Benjamin Willoughby is facing a suspended sentence after he was found in possession of a prohibited pseudo image of a child and an extreme pornographic image.

The details of the images were not disclosed during a recent hearing at Leeds Crown Court, but court records describe the latter image as “performing an act of intercourse with a live animal, namely a frog”.

The 27-year-old from Kinsley has a previous conviction from 2021 for trying to meet a girl under 13 following grooming and engaging in sexual communications with the child.

As a result of that conviction, he was given a sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) which allows case officers to attend his home without warning to check to his internet devices.

On the afternoon of August 6, 2024, an officer arrived at his address on Lakeside View in Kinsley.

The officer suspected Willoughby was trying to delete something from his phone before handing it over, prosecutor Oishee Dey told the court.

They found the images and searches indicative of an interest in children.

During his police interview, Willoughby admitted watching porn but denied having viewed any child-abuse images.

He said the extreme pornographic image involving the animal had been sent to him while on a stag party in Greece.

Mitigating, Tonicha Allen said Willoughby accepted he must be punished, but said at the time he perhaps had the wrong impression of the case-offender officers, that they were to “catch him out”.

She said Willoughby realised he needed to do “further work” and was “still on the path to changing his life around entirely”.

She said his partner was pregnant and was aware of his previous conviction.

Judge Alex Menary adjourned the case until January 30, citing discrepancies in the child-image charge that needed resolving.

However, he said he would follow probation’s recommendation and give Willoughby a suspended sentence.

Willoughby was given bail until his next court appearance.
