A trial date has been set for August 14, 2028, and it is expected to last at least two days.

The 51-year-old former soldier, of Bracken Hill View, Horbury, was given bail and told to keep in touch with his brief.

Fishwick was elected as the Conservative councillor for the ward of Horbury and South Ossett in 2019, but lost his seat in the 2023 elections.

He also bought the greengrocer shop, Earnshaw’s, on Horbury’s Queen Street in 2017 and later renamed it The Green Berry.
