'Foolish' Leeds restaurant worker dealt drugs out of 'necessity' to earn money
A restaurant worker dealt in deadly heroin and crack cocaine out of a “necessity” to earn money, a court was told.
Nadil Ahmed had no previous convictions before being stopped and searched by police in Leeds.
The 26-year-old was jailed at Leeds Crown Court.
It was heard that suspicious officers had stopped Ahmed on November 13, 2024.

They found multiple wraps of heroin and crack cocaine on him, a small number of bags of cannabis and almost £450 in cash.
They searched his home and found more cannabis and crack cocaine. He gave a no-comment interview at the police station, but had “effectively admitted” drug dealing.
Ahmed, of Hares Terrace, Chapeltown, admitted two counts of dealing in Class A drugs and one of dealing in Class B.
Mitigating, Sean Smith said Ahmed had been working as warehouse operative but had lost this job and had since worked at an Indian restaurant.
He said Ahmed was “foolish” for dealing in drugs, but did it out of a “necessity” to earn money.
The judge, Recorder Guy Kearl KC jailed him for 28 months.
