Floral tributes left outside Swarcliffe home after unexplained death of 11-year-old girl

West Yorkshire Police were called to Stanks Drive, Leeds shortly before 7am on Wednesday morning.
The Year 7 pupil of Boston Spa Academy was taken to hospital in a critical condition but was pronounced dead in the early hours of Thursday.

Hide AdA man and woman who were arrested in connection with the incident were released on bail last night.
The girl's death is being treated as unexplained and a post-mortem examination is being arranged to try to find out more about what led to her death.
A trio of flowers have been left outside the home in tribute to the 11-year-old.
A single Police Welfare Unit is stationed outside the property on Friday.

Hide AdAdam Ryder, Principal of Boston Spa Academy, said the pupil had made a "wonderfully positive impact" on their academy.
He said her death had come "as a great shock" to everyone at the school.
In a statement given to the Yorkshire Evening Post, the principal said: “All of us at Boston Spa Academy are deeply saddened by the sudden death of a much-loved and popular Year 7 student.
"This student had already made a wonderfully positive impact on our academy and on us all as individuals and their unexplained death has come as a great shock to us all.

Hide Ad"The academy is providing all support necessary to all members of our school community - students, families and colleagues who may be affected by this tragic event.
“Above all, our deepest condolences, thoughts and prayers go to all of the family and friends of the student.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "Police are continuing to carry out enquiries following the unexplained death of an 11-year-old girl in Leeds.

Hide Ad"The girl was taken to hospital in a critical condition from an address in Stanks Drive, Swarcliffe, on Wednesday morning (November 25) and was pronounced dead in the early hours of Thursday (Nov 26).
"A man and a woman who were arrested in connection with the incident were released on bail on Wednesday night.
"A post mortem is being arranged as part of ongoing enquiries to establish the circumstances of the child’s death, which is being treated as unexplained."
