Five men in tracksuits try to ram-raid JD Sports at The Springs Colton

JD Sports at The Springs has been the subject of a ram-raid attack for the second time in three months.

Officers were called to the new shopping centre near Colton at 10.30pm on Monday.

A silver Ford Mondeo had been repeatedly reversed into the glass front of the shop.

The glass was broken and damage was caused to the internal shutters but no one was able to gain entry to the shop and nothing was stolen.

Five men in tracksuits left the scene in a silver estate car leaving the Mondeo.

Clothing was stolen in a ram raid attack on the same store in September.

Detective Inspector Richard Holmes, of Leeds District CID, said: “We are carrying out enquiries into this incident, which is the second time the store has been targeted in recent months, and we would like to hear from anyone who witnessed it or who has any information that could assist us.”
