Family devastated after young child's grave set on fire in West Yorkshire

The grieving family of a young boy have been left devastated after his grave was set on fire in West Yorkshire.

The grave was damaged in a fire in Scholemoor Cemetery in Bradford between 10.30pm on Thursday, March 26 and Friday, March 27,

A plaque, blanket and a flag were damaged in the incident.

Police have today issued an appeal to the public for information to help "bring comfort to the grieving family of this young man".

Detective Inspector Mark Taylor, of Bradford District CID, said: "The family of the deceased were very upset to find damage to their son’s resting place, having lost him suddenly at a young age.

"We have carried out a number of enquiries to identify those responsible and are now appealing to the public to come forward if they have any information which may assist us in progressing this investigation, so we can bring some comfort to the grieving family of this young man."
