Eight masked youths caught 'planning attack' on cars and taxis in Leeds

Police in Leeds have caught eight masked youths 'planning an attack' on vehicles in Leeds over the weekend.

Plain closed officers of the Leeds East Neighbourhood Policing Team carried out an operation in south Seacroft and on York Road (A64) in Killingbeck.

Police were reacting to increasing reports of stones and rocks being thrown at buses, cars and taxis in east Leeds.

The Leeds East team posted: "Neighbourhood Policing Team have been out over the weekend in plain clothes and have intercepted eight youths.

"The youths were found covering their faces and almost certainly, planning such an attack.

"Some youths made off on foot, were pursued by officers and subsequently detained.

"Those identified were taken home to parents, images captured and work will continue to address the issues."
