Officers forced entry to the property on Winrose Approach at around 7.40am on July 23, and spotted Rafal Kuc launch a mobile phone from his bedroom window.
Leeds Crown Court heard this week that the 24-year-old should have already be removed from the UK due to previous drug-dealing offences. Having secured entry, the officers found cannabis, more than £2,000 in cash, a machete in the bedroom and a large quantity of snap bags used to wrap individual drug deals.

Kuc was arrested but gave no comments during his police interview. The Nokia he threw from the window was found to be an active drug line. It had 39 contacts stored, 20 of which were known to be involved in Class A drugs.
Messages advertised drugs for sale, including “three for £20” and “on all night”, referring to being open for business. The court heard that Kuc has previous convictions for dealing in cannabis, heroin and cocaine. He was recalled to prison from his last sentence and appeared in court via video link from HMP Lincoln.
He admitted two counts of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs for his latest offending.
Mitigating, Peter Byrne said Kuc was released from his last sentence around October last year and said he was due to be deported but nothing came of it. He said he was unable to work legally which left him in an “impossible situation”, that he “could not provide for his family and effectively fell back into what he knew”.

Mr Byrne said: “He accepts his current sentence will be extended by some margin. He does not wish to play the victim card. He accepts his conduct fully.”
The judge, Recorder Brian Whitehead, accepted Kuc was in an “unusual position” given his immigration status. He jailed him for four years. He told him that his time spent on remand would not count since his arrest because he had been recalled.
