Driver caught at 151mph on West Yorkshire road as shocking speeding figures revealed
A driver was caught at 151mph on a West Yorkshire road - as shocking speeding figures are revealed for the region.
A freedom of information request seen by the Yorkshire Evening Post also showed that one driver was caught speeding at 60mph in a 20mph speed zone in April 2020 - 20mph faster than the same record in 2019.
Another driver was caught driving at 86mph in a 30mph zone in West Yorkshire - almost three times the speed limit.
Other shocking statistics show one driver was caught at 111mph in a 50mph zone.
However, the total number of speeding fines handed out in April 2020 was lower than April 2019, figures revealed.
In April 2019, 14,821 fines were handed out by West Yorkshire Police.
In contrast, 11,961 fines were given in April 2020 according to the statistics released by the force.
