Disqualified driver caught for the 16th time after swerving between Lanes on M1 in Leeds

A disqualified driver was caught for the sixteenth time after officers spotted him swerving between lanes on the M1 in Leeds.

Traffic officers stopped the man on Friday, September 4 near to Junction 44 Rothwell after witnessing him swerving in and out of the lanes.

He was arrested on suspicion of being over the limit of drugs and alcohol, driving whilst disqualified and having no insurance.

His car was seized.

On Saturday, September 5, officers issued an update stating that the man had been remanded due to being caught driving while disqualified a total of 16 times.

West Yorkshire Police officers said: "This offender has been charged and remanded into custody for dangerous driving and numerous other offences.

"Remanded due to driving whilst disqualified on no less than 16 occasions.

"Hopefully a lengthy prison sentence to follow."
