Delighted owner Will Kendall confirmed on Wednesday night that Stanley was now back at home and "seemed to be fine".

The family chose not to go into specifics of how he was found due to the nature of the theft.

In a Facebook post, Will thanked everyone who shared the appeal and said: "I’m not forgetting each and everyone of you for all your comments, shares and hard work I am truly in each and everyone’s debt.

"In these times it really shows how nice people are, I just wish everyone could be as nice as you lot.

"Stan is home now, which I thought at times wouldn’t happen.

"My thoughts now more than ever are with people that are still looking for their lost pets, I will do my bit to return the kindness I have received."
