Cross Gates police patrol catches 11 speeding drivers on one road in just an hour

Police have caught 11 speeding drivers in just one hour in east Leeds.

Officers patrolled Crossgates Road between 8.30am and 9.30am on Monday, May 17.

They witnessed eleven drivers speeding over the 40mph limit, with the highest speed noted at 57mph.

Police have assured residents that action will be taken against those caught speeding.

They also intend to conduct further checks in the area.

East Leeds police officers revealed the findings of their patrol on social media: "On the morning of Monday 17th May 2021, PCSOs Taylor and Meachem conducted speed checks on Crossgates Road, Leeds.

"PCSOs were present at the location, between the hours of 08:30 am to 09:30 am. A total of eleven vehicles were witnessed speeding over the 40mph limit, with the highest speed noted at 57mph.

"Further checks will be conducted in the locality and action will be taken, against those caught speeding."
