Paranoid and controlling Wakefield boyfriend demanded partner hand over £400 a week to 'live with him'
A controlling boyfriend abused, attacked and bit his partner while demanding she hand over her wages “to live with him”.
Callum Kellett would not allow the woman to wear dresses, accused of her cheating and made her call into work sick if he was not at work.
The 20-year-old was jailed at Leeds Crown Court this week after admitting a raft of offences.
The couple, who had known each other from school, began a relationship in April 2023 but it began to unravel after her 19th birthday party.

He accused her of cheating because he said she looked at another male. He verbally abused her daily and called her names vile names, prosecutor Benjamin Bell said.
She was forbidden to wear make up, and he did not like it if she went out on nights out with friends, so she stopped going out to keep the peace.
She was forced to hand over her £400 weekly wages.
Kellett threatened to slit her throat on one occasion after he had been out drinking in Leeds. He punched her to the legs, bit her to the legs and arms and tried snapping her fingers.
The next morning he claimed he could not remember the attack.
On another occasion he grabbed her by the throat and while she was taking a bath, he grabbed her by the hair and pulled her head close to the water.
In June last year, he punched her again and bit her legs. The neighbours rang the police due to the screams.
Finally, on November 13 last year, he threatened to break her jaw if she did not pick up his cannabis on her way home.
He also threatened to stab her. He then rang his mother and claimed he was the victim.
Kellett, of Thornleigh Road, Wakefield, was arrested the next day.
The court heard videos were recorded in which Kellett could be heard making sickening threats. He told her he would “f****** kill”her and “end her life”.
In a victim impact statement, read out by Mr Bell, the woman said her life had been “ruined” by Kellett.
She added: “He controlled every aspect of my life. I felt trapped and isolated. I hope no other woman has to go through what I had to.”
Kellett admitted controlling or coercive behaviour, strangulation and four counts of assault. He appeared in court over a video link from HMP Doncaster, where he was being held on remand.
Mitigating, Joel Wootten said Kellett had been “candid” in his interview with probation and added: “He has demonstrated regret and remorse for his actions.
“He understands the impact it’s had on the complainant.”
He said Kellett was in full-time work at a warehouse and lived in rented accommodation, both of which he would lose should he be jailed.
But Judge Tahir Khan KC said immediate custody was necessary.
He said: “Nobody deserves to be treated in the manner in which you abused her.
“There were numerous assaults and you carried on. It’s that continuation of the abuse, in my judgement, that requires an immediate sentence of custody.
“I accept that you are young but even someone of your age would have known the harm you have inflicted.
“It’s not enough to say you were drunk or on drugs. You have to take responsibility for what you did.”
He jailed him for 28 months and gave him a 10-year restraining order to keep him away from his ex.
