Detectives investigating a fire which gutted a community centre in Leeds want to trace these people.

The CCTV images have been released as part of the ongoing investigation into a suspected arson at the Bilal Masjid Mosque’s community centre in Conway Road, Harehills.

Extensive damage was caused to the centre during the blaze, which was reported to emergency services at 8.40pm on July 1.

Work at the scene by fire service investigators and police scenes of crime officers has led detectives to treat the fire as a suspected arson.

But they have said there was nothing to suggest it was a targeted attack.

Acting Detective Inspector James Entwistle, of Leeds District CID, earlier said: “A witness reported seeing two men sheltering in a doorway at the back of the centre before the fire started and nearby CCTV appears to confirm the presence of some males at the rear of the centre prior to the fire.”

Now police have renewed their appeal for information and hope the images could bring fresh leads.

A spokesman said: “If you know the people in the pictures, recognise the clothing or if you have any information about the fire please contact 101, quoting reference number 13160281635.”

Information can also be passed on to the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
