Beeston paedophile brought to justice over sex offences committed against child and teenager dating back 20 years

A paedophile who committed sex offences against a girl and a teenager has been given an extendend prison sentence.

David Parker was brought to justice two decades after he began offending in the early 2000s.

Parker began abusing the child when she was eight or nine years old and the offending continued for around three years.

Leeds Crown Court heard Parker went on to target a second victim, a teenage girl, more than a decade later.

The offending came to light in 2018 when the teenager reported the abuse.

Parker, 42, of Northcote Green, Beeston, pleaded guilty to three counts of indecent assault on a girl under 14, two offences of sexual assault and causing a girl to engage in sexual activity.

She described how she is still on medication to help her cope with the trauma of what happened to her.

Judge Robin Mairs imposed an extended sentence of nine years, seven months.

Parker must serve a custodial term of eight years, seven months, of which he must serve two-thirds in custody.

He then faces a further year on licence.
