Beeston murder trial: Pathologist tells court how Keith Harrower died from single stab wound to the neck

Dr Michael Parsons gave evidence at the trial of two men accused of murdering Keith Harrower on Dewsbury Road, Beeston.

Leeds Crown Court has heard the 40-year-old died soon after the incident on December 12, 2019.

The prosecution allege Mr Harrower was lured to the area by brothers Omar Ishaq and Kearon Barker before he was fatally stabbed.

Dr Parsons told the court Mr Harrower had just one significant injury to the left side of his head.

The forensic pathologist said the wound was consistent with being caused by a 'slashing motion' with a weapon with a sharp edge.

The wound went 11.5cms into Mr Harrower's body, behind his nose and mouth area.

Dr Parsons said it caused an artery in the neck to be severed, leading to a rapid loss of blood.

The court heard the injury would also have made breathing difficult for Mr Harrower.

The attack was captured on a CCTV camera from the Premier convenience store.

Mr Harrower was seen on the footage staggering towards the door of the shop before collapsing around 5.20pm.

Members of the public who witnessed the incident and shop staff tried to help Mr Harrower by stemming the flow of blood from the wound.

He was taken to Leeds General Infirmary by ambulance but was declared dead at 6.30pm that day.

Barker, 31, of Cardinal Crescent, Beeston, and Ishaq, 34, Low Lane, Horsforth, plead not guilty to murder.The trial continues
