Officers were acting on information received from a member of the public.

On Thursday, police released CCTV footage of a white van they wanted to trace in connection with the alleged attempted abduction of two 13-year-old girls on Pellon Lane at Halifax just after 7pm on Tuesday.

It followed the alleged attempted abduction of a seven-year-old girl in Mixenden just before 6pm on Tuesday. Police said the girl was approached by a man in a white van. He took hold of the girl and told her she was going with him. The victim managed to kick the man and ran away.

Officers are also investigating an incident on September 17 on Edwards Road, Sowerby Bridge.

Police said an eight-year-old girl was approached by a man in a dark coloured van who asked her: “Do you want to come into the back of my van?” The girl ran home, screaming.
