Arrest over ‘child sex abuse’ at former Leeds Grammar School
A man has been arrested by police investigating alleged child sex abuse at the former Leeds Grammar School.
The 67-year-old was held in the Rochdale area yesterday by officers from West Yorkshire Police’s child safeguarding unit in Leeds.
It follows a report from a 36-year-old man of offences said to have occurred in the late 1980s and early 1990s when the school was at its site on Woodhouse Moor.
The arrested man was later released on police bail pending further enquiries.
Detective Inspector Lawrence Bone said: “Our investigation is ongoing and we would appeal for anyone who has any information that could assist the investigation to contact us immediately. “
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Constable Mark Howorth of the Leeds child safeguarding unit on 0113 2413535 or by email to [email protected]
