Arrest after driver fails to stop for police before crashing into two other vehicles

On Sunday, neighbourhood policing officers from south Leeds attempted to stop the pictured VW Passat due to the manner of its driving in the Beeston area.

According to police, the driver failed to stop and then crashed into two other vehicles.

The driver of the VW has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop and failing to report a crash.

There were no serious injuries.

Police enquiries are ongoing.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police posted what had happened on social media: "On Sunday 14th March 2021 NPT officers from Team 3 attempted to stop the pictured VW Passat due to the manner of its driving in the Beeston area when the driver failed to stop.

"The vehicle then crashed into 2 other vehicles.

"Fortunately there were no serious injuries.

"The driver of the VW has been arrested for Dangerous driving, failing to stop and failing to report an RTC.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
