Armley Ridge Road crash: Cyclist taken to hospital with suspected fractures after being hit by vehicle in Leeds

Police are searching for a driver who fled the scene of a crash which left a cyclist with suspected fractures.

It happened at the junction of Armley Ring Road and Cockshott Lane at about 12.15pm today (Monday June 7).

A cyclist, a woman in her forties, was taken to hospital with suspected fractures to her hip and wrist after being hit by a vehicle.

West Yorkshire Police said the driver of the vehicle fled the scene and officers are working to identify them.

The road was closed until 1.30pm as police carried out their investigation.

A police spokesman said: "At 12.13pm today police were contacted by the ambulance service who were attending a road traffic collision involving a cyclist near to the junction of Armley Ridge Road and Cockshott Lane.

"The cyclist, a woman in her forties, received suspected fractures to her hip and wrist.

"The driver of the vehicle involved drove off and enquiries are ongoing to identify them."
