Armed police called to reports of 10-year-old boys threatened with gun on Carlton playing fields

Armed police were called to reports that a group of 10-year-old boys had been threatened with a gun on a playing field in Leeds.

West Yorkshire Police confirmed that they received a report that a group of boys had been threatened on fields near to New Road in Carlton at about 2pm on Tuesday, February 2.

Armed officers were deployed to the area.

A man was detained.

The boys, all aged 10, were spoken with in front of their parents.

It was confirmed that no gun had been seen or any threat made.

The man was released at the scene.

A crime has been recorded in relation to criminal damage to a building and enquiries are ongoing.
