Armed police arrest man on suspicion of shooting in Leeds after stopping car outside Royal Armouries

Armed police arrested a man on suspicion of being involved in a shooting after stopping a car at Leeds Dock.

Officers swooped and made the arrest after pulling over the car in Armouries Way shortly after 3pm on May 30.

A spokesperson said the man arrested had been wanted in connection with an earlier shooting in East End Park, Leeds.

Police were called to East Park Street on April 30 after a 26-year-old man was found with an injury to his leg during incident.

The injury was believed to have been caused by a gun.

The victim was taken to hospital, but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The suspect arrested at the docks earlier this week was also found to be wanted on recall to prison, according to police.

The spokeperson said the 20-year-old man remained under investigation in relation to the firearms incident.

Police said enquiries into what happened during the firearms incident were ongoing.
