Almost 30% of drivers in three Leeds streets caught speeding in police operation

A speed operation in three Leeds streets found more than 30 per cent of drivers to be over the speed limit.

Police set up mobile cameras on the Ring Road Middleton, Belle Isle Road and Middleton Park Avenue in south Leeds.

They recorded the speed of 62 vehicles, 18 of which were found to be over the speed limit.

The drivers were stopped and given advice about their speed by officers.

In a statement issued on Facebook, the Leeds South Neighbourhood Policing Team said: "Officers have been conducting speed checks on Ring Road Middleton, Belle Isle Road and Middleton park Avenue.

"62 vehicles were checked, 18 drivers were stopped and advised regarding their speed.

"Please be aware of your speed."
