15-year-old arrested after group attack man with broken bottle near Leeds McColl's

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested after a group attacked a man with a broken bottle near a McColl's in Leeds.

The attack happened near to the McColl's shop in Selby Road, Halton Moor at about 7.30pm last night.

The 46-year-old victim had been approached by a youth that he knew while in the shop.

When he went outside he was confronted by a group and was hit by a broken bottle that was thrown at him.

The bottle caused a large gash above his eye.

He was then repeatedly kicked by the gang while he was on the floor.

The man was taken to hospital where he needed stitches.

A 15-year-old boy was arrested in the early hours of this morning.

He has been arrested suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

He is currently in custody.

Enquiries are ongoing to identify and arrest further suspects.
