10 people arrested by West Yorkshire Police every day in December for drink and drug driving

West Yorkshire Police have arrested on average 10 people every day for drink and drug driving in December.

As of December 15, 166 people have been arrested on suspicion of drink or drug driving.

In just the last week, 46 people have been arrested for drug driving and 41 people for drink driving.

Six people were also arrested for failing to provide a sample.

This means that on average, 10 people have been arrested every day in December for the crime.

A post on the West Yorkshire Police Facebook page said: "We're 15 days into December and we've arrested 166 people on suspicion of drink or drug driving.

"In the last week we're arrested a further 46 people for drug driving, 41 for drink driving and 6 for failing to provide a sample.

"That's 10 people a day.

"Drink or drug driving can cost you your... Your licence; Your car; Your job; Your life #wypthecost"
