Court hears how father behaved “sexually inappropriately” while asleep

A woman has told a High Court judge how her former partner had a “disorder” which led to him behaving “sexually inappropriately” while asleep.

The woman said the disorder could also lead to the man acting “with aggression” when sleeping.

Her complaints have emerged in a ruling by Mr Justice Holman following the launch of family court litigation.

The judge did not go into detail about the man’s alleged behaviour while sleeping.

He said the man and woman were dispute in dispute over how much contact the man should have with their two sons.

And he indicated that another hearing would take place in the near future.

“It is, in general terms, the case of the mother that the father has displayed aggressive and, at times, violent behaviour,” said the judge.

“As part of her case she says that he has some form of sleep disorder such that he can act with aggression or, indeed, sexually inappropriately in his sleep.”

The judge did not identify anyone involved - but said the boys at the centre of the case were aged three and about 18 months.

He said he had analysed the latest stage of the case at a family court hearing in Leeds.
