The Core in Leeds evacuated after 'suspicious package' found

West Yorkshire Police received a report of a suspect package at 1.42pm yesterday (Wednesday), at the entrance to The Core shopping centre.

Officers attended the scene but found the package to be an empty laptop bag.

A customer at The Core said the fire alarms sounded and the shopping centre was evacuated for about 20 minutes, before customers and staff were let back into the centre.
